We are very pleased to welcome you and your child back to school for their final year at BHCS. This is a crucial time, and we are committed to supporting every student both academically and personally as they prepare for their next steps.

Home Learning, Coursework & Revision Club
To help students manage their workload and prepare effectively for assessments, we are offering a Home Learning, Coursework & Revision Club every school day:
- When: Monday to Friday
- Where: Room PDS
- Staff: Miss Walley
- Who can attend? All Year 11 students
This is a quiet, supportive space where students can complete homework, coursework, or revision with guidance available if needed.
Zone 11 timetable to be released in the coming weeks.

College Open Events – Post-16 Planning
Many colleges will be opening applications in the coming weeks. Below are upcoming College Open Events that we encourage all students and parents to attend:
- Queen Mary's College – Tuesday 24th & Wednesday 25th September
- Peter Symonds College – Tuesday 1st & Wednesday 2nd October
- Sparsholt College – Friday 4th October (Registrations now open)
- BCOT (Basingstoke College of Technology) – Monday 13th October & Saturday 22nd November
These events are essential for understanding course options, application processes, and the different learning environments each college offers. Most application deadlines will be in December, please check with individual college.

Autumn Term
- 15th October 2025 – Year 11 Parent Information Evening
- 10th November 2025 – Year 11 Progress Trackers Sent Home
- 12th November 2025 – Parents’ Evening (A Side)
- 19th November 2025 – Parents’ Evening (B Side)
Spring Term
- 7th – 21st January 2026 – Year 11 PPE (Pre-Public Examination) Window
Summer Term
- 1st May – 24th June 2026 – GCSE Examination Period
- 25th June 2026 – Provisional Year 11 Prom date (details to follow)
More detailed information about exams and prom arrangements will be shared closer to the time.

I mentioned to students , they have approximately 130 school days remaining (as of writing 16th September 2025) and it’s imperative they take every opportunity they are provided and make the most of their time by being ready to learn.
