Year 10

Welcome to the wonderful Class of 2027. My name is Miss Mercer and I have worked at Brighton Hill for over 10 years now and been a Head of Year for 8 of those. I am excited to have the opportunity to take this year group on and hope that both you and they will feel supported and reassured throughout their GCSE years.

I am also lucky enough this year to work alongside Mr Marshall who is my Deputy Head of Year who will often support me in dealing with student issues or speaking to parents.

This year I have launched a year group motto to the students, and would like to share this with yourselves. The Class of 2027 is 'a year where everyone can be their best selves'. The sentiment behind this is to celebrate everyone, make everyone feel seen and heard, and to ensure that they leave our school in the best way possible in 2027, ready for their next steps.

In order to support our students in the best way possible, please do make use of the tutor team for every day questions or low level concerns. The emails for the tutors are listed below:

10EV1 - Miss Stiff - bstiff@bhcs.sfet.org.uk
10EV2 - Mrs Rayden - lrayden@bhcs.sfet.org.uk
10Hz1 - Miss Nicholson - cnicholson@bhcs.sfet.org.uk

If you have a higher level concern or query, please do feel free to email myself directly and I will always try to get back to you within 72 hours, in line with our school policy.

I am really keen to give Year 10 the most positive experience over their final years at Brighton Hill and plan to do this through fairness, positivity, high expectations and celebrating their successes.

I look forward to working with you all!

Miss Mercer
