Information and Guidance Days

We are delighted to refine our parents' evening and meeting offer this year, having received and responded to feedback in recent years from parents within our community. As part of that process, and to supplement upcoming parents' evenings, we are pleased to offer in-person Information & Guidance Days.

The days do not run as a normal school day, with students and parents being invited into school to meet with their tutor instead. A meaningful discussion about your child's current progress throughout their school journey will be the primary focus.

For the first I&G day of the year there will also be a careers fair running in the sports hall, a community cafe in the canteen area, a uniform shop and a year 10-specific event involving mock interviews with industry experts.

This represents an exciting opportunity to celebrate the progress of our students and strengthen the vital partnership between home and school. Unlike a traditional parents' evening, this day is not centred solely around discussions about academic progress or grades. Instead, it is about your child’s holistic journey — their wellbeing, resilience, character, attendance, enrichment, and the many ways they contribute to school life. These conversations are designed to celebrate success, reflect on challenges, and set meaningful goals for the year ahead.

Looking Ahead

At Brighton Hill Community School, everything we do is shaped by our four cornerstones: courage, commitment, kindness, and collaboration. This event will bring those values to life as:

Courage – students reflect honestly on their progress and hopes for the year ahead.

Commitment – tutors, parents, and students invest time together to build success.

Kindness – achievements and personal growth are recognised and celebrated.

Collaboration – home and school work in partnership to make success inevitable.

We are incredibly proud of our students, and this day is about recognising and celebrating them as whole people. It is also about strengthening the partnership between tutors, parents, and carers — a partnership we know is the key to making success inevitable.

We cannot wait to welcome you on site for these important days.
