Dear Parent / Carer,
We are delighted to invite you to our upcoming Year 11 A-Side Parents’ Evening, which will take place on-site at Brighton Hill Community School. This marks a welcome return to in-person meetings.
We know how much our families value face-to-face conversations, and we look forward to welcoming you back into school to discuss your child’s progress.
Appointments can be made from 6pm today and will close at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, 11th November. Please visit https://bhcs.schoolcloud.co.uk/ to book your appointments. Login is completed with the following information:
Student’s Legal First Name
Student’s Legal Surname

We recommend that you leave a short break between each appointment to allow yourself time to move to your next teacher appointment.
If you do not have access to the internet, please contact us at the school and we will be happy to add appointments on your behalf. Should you wish to make any changes after the closing date, please contact the school office.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Why are appointments only 5 minutes in duration?
The evening is designed to provide top-level feedback on attainment, progress, and attitude to learning. If there are significant concerns, these will be raised prior to parents’ evening by staff.
- Can I request a longer conversation?
Absolutely. Where parents wish for a more extended discussion, meetings or communication can be arranged outside of the constraints of parents’ evening.
- What if I want to know something specific during my appointment?
When booking, you’ll see an ‘add notes’ option. Please use this to submit any specific questions in advance, allowing teachers to prepare a bespoke response. If a longer discussion is needed, a further meeting can be arranged.
- What if I can’t get an appointment?
If all slots are full, you can join the waiting list via the booking system. Relevant staff will follow up to offer alternative feedback arrangements.
- Why are some appointments cancelled at short notice?
Occasionally, staff may be unable to attend due to illness or personal circumstances. We do our best to provide scheduled appointments, but unavoidable absences may occur. Cancelled appointments are recorded and followed up by relevant staff.
- Why are parents’ evenings now on-site?
Following continuous consultation with parents and staff, we have returned to on-site meetings to support the spirit of collaboration and strengthen our partnership with families.
- What if I cannot attend the evening? If you cannot attend due to other commitments, please liaise directly with relevant teachers to arrange feedback.
How is Parents’ Evening different from Information & Guidance (IAG) Day?
Parents’ Evening is focused on academic progress, attainment, and attitude to learning, with short appointments designed for top-level feedback.
In contrast, our IAG Day is a broader event centred on your child’s holistic journey, including wellbeing, character, attendance, enrichment, and careers guidance. IAG Day features longer tutor meetings, a careers fair, and opportunities to discuss wider aspects of school life. You can read more about IAG days by clicking this link.
We are excited to welcome you back on site and look forward to working together to support your child’s success.
Yours sincerely,
Mr D Watkins
Deputy Headteacher
