How important are bees?

Here at Brighton Hill Community School, we care about our animals in and around the school community, and believe their habitats should be preserved. One of our main worries are a little insect called... Bees!

Why are bees important?

Bees are important for our environment as they pollinate most of the plants on our planet. They help fruits and flowers grow, and often thrive. However, at the moment, bees are dying and at an alarming rate. This is because of pesticides, chemicals in the air and habitats being destroyed.

But don't worry... there is a way to help!!

How can you help?

You can help in a number of ways. For example, by building 'bug hotels', that gives them a home (it all helps makes your garden look nice!).

You can also use environmentally friendly pesticides and when going places, try walking instead of going by car – this will help protect the planet and, as a result, protect the bees' habitats.

We will keep you updated but for now, remember to BEE environmentally friendly!
