'Century' Guardian Accounts & Home Learning Consultation Reminder

  • Details on how to set up your Century Guardian account and the benefits of having one.
  • Reminder of how students access their Century account.
  • Reminder of the current Home Learning consultation survey (deadline extended to Monday 1st December 11am) to help shape the BHCS Home Learning Policy review.

Dear Parent / Carer,

We are excited to share some updates regarding our partnership with Century Tech, the platform we use to support personalised learning for students primarily in core subjects (English, Maths & Science). This is our main web-based platform for setting home learning in these subjects, also allowing students to continue their own home learning journey independently, via their Century ‘recommended path’.

Part 1: Century Guardian Accounts – Coming Soon

We are currently working with Century to update and issue Guardian Accounts. Once your account is set up, you will receive an email directly from Century with instructions on how to activate it.

You can view an exemplar of what this email will look like by viewing the attachment at the end of this page. We expect emails to land in your inbox this week. Please do check your ‘junk/spam’ folder too.

Why Guardian Accounts Matter

Century Tech’s Guardian Accounts empower parents and carers to actively monitor and support their child’s learning. Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Weekly Guardian Insight Emails

Every Monday, you’ll receive a summary of your child’s learning, including:

  • Progress highlights (total nuggets completed, active days)
  • Key achievements and milestones
  • Opportunities for improvement
  1. Guardian Portal & Dashboard

By logging in at https://app.century.tech/login/ using the login details you set from the Century email, you can access:

  • Overview Tab: Tracks time spent, days active, recent nuggets with scores and feedback, and course summaries.
  • Performance & Recommendations: AI-driven diagnostics to target weak areas and suggest stretch nuggets.
  • Tracker & Analytics: Detailed tables showing attempts, scores, and progress over time.
  • Assignments Tab: View teacher-set tasks and feedback.
  • Multiple Children: Easily switch between profiles if you have more than one child.

Part 2: Student Access

Students access Century using Microsoft Office Single Sign-On.

Students can navigate directly to https://app.century.tech/login/.

From here, they select ‘Sign in with Office 365’ and use their school Microsoft Office 365 username and password (the same password they use to login to a school computer) when prompted. Students are already well versed in how to do this.

If your child experiences any issues logging in, please contact their tutor in the first instance.

Part 3: Home Learning Consultation

As flagged in communication earlier in the academic year, we are currently reviewing our Home Learning Policy and would greatly value your input. Please take a few minutes to complete our consultation survey by clicking the link below:

Complete the Home Learning Consultation Survey

We have extended the deadline for survey completion to 1st December at 11am to harvest as much feedback as possible.

Your feedback is vital in shaping a policy that supports all learners effectively.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. Please see the Century email exemplar via the attachment below.

Yours sincerely,

Mr D Watkins
